It’s the early 20th century. A general invades a town, which is winds up devastated after his passing. Bewildered, the monks at a nearby temple observe the bloody general’s actions. Meanwhile, a woman plans to get rich off of her son’s marriage to the general’s daughter. When it looks like everything is ready for greed to triumph, the monks decide to face up to them and fight the invaders. Benny Chan

Born in 1969, he worked in television as Johnnie To’s assistant. He’s been nominated several times as best director at the Hong Kong Film Awards. Considered to be one of the very best action movie directors, some of his most outstanding films are: Big Bullet (96), Who am I? (98), Gen X-Cops (99) and New Police Story (04).
