Sightseers
de Ben Wheatley
Synopsis
It was about time that Ben Wheatley’s name hit the headlines. Last year, at the Festival, we contemplated his horror thriller Kill List as one of its most pleasant surprises. Now, Wheatley joins forces with Edgar Wright (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and, here, executive producer) to present us with a profoundly dark comedy. When Tina, a timid young woman who lives with her mom, meets Chris, he decides to take her on a caravan trip. Their idyllic journey gives way to a string of atrocities in what is destined to be the fiercest comedy of the year.

Ben Wheatley
His debut, Down Terrace (09), made him one of the great British film talents, a status he’s gone on to consolidate with each of his following films: Kill List (11), Sightseers (12), A Field in England (13) and now, High-Rise.
