Maniac
Synopsis
Frank leads a solitary life as the owner of a mannequin store. At first glance, he seems like the kind of guy who wouldn’t harm a fly. However, there is something profoundly disturbing in his look; a dark, perverse secret that will reemerge following his encounter with Anna, a young artist who turns to him for help with an exhibit. Alexandre Aja and his partner in mischief Gregory Levasseur were in charge of writing and sponsoring this remake of William Lustig’s cult classic, one of the most violent slasher movies of the eighties. A challenge subscribed to by Elijah Wood, who gives his angelical image a radical spin as he steps into the shoes of a depraved psychopath.
