Le magasin des suicides

de Patrice Leconte

Life in the city is tough. The routine, the tedium, the overcast sky... So it´s not strange that many people decide to erase themselves from the face of the earth. The Tuvache family has been attending to this demand for decades: in their store they have all kinds of devices, weapons and poisons that ensure that the customer abandons this valley of tears in the most satisfactory way possible. Business is full steam ahead, but the birth of the smiley-faced Alan will change everything. It won’t be long before the small one’s unbeatable joie de vivre turns out to be highly damaging for “sales”. Patrice Leconte debuts in animated cinema with a small, very black musical treat, a screen version of the popular novel by Jean Teulé.
