A couple enters a restaurant. When the moment arrives to take their order, the waiter begins to write compulsively in his notebook, page after page, nonstop. The beginning of Gente en sitios marks the film’s tone: disconcerting, humorous and absurd. Following Dispongo de Barcos and the medium-length movie El Señor, Juan Cavestany delves into the possibilities of low cost cinema, making a critical manifest with almost political hues.
Screenwriter, director and playwright, he has been highly successful with theater staging by the Animalario Company. In cinema, he has directed the feature films Las asombrosas aventuras de Borjamari y Pocholo (04), Gente de mala calidad (08) and Dispongo de barcos (10).
