Based on poems by Albert Giraud and with a score by Arnold Schönberg, Pierrot Lunaire is, undoubtedly, one of the most important pieces of music of the 20th century. Preparing a new staging, orchestra director Premil Petrovic asked filmmaker Bruce LaBruce to give his version of this atonal, innovative piece. He replied with a furious queercore interpretation full of transgression.
Photographer and filmmaker, his films have participated in all the major festivals on the international scene. His filmography includes Hustler White (96), Otto; or Up with Dead People (08) and The Misandrists (17).
