Synopsis

After the death of her husband, Amelia tries to raise a difficult son on her own, one who has a recurring nightmare where he’s chased by a monster. The atmosphere grows even tenser with the discovery of a strange book called “The Babadook”. With this spine-chilling psychological horror piece, Jennifer Kent is on everyone’s lips at all the genre festivals.

She’s worked in theater, film and television. After being a member of the directing crew on Dogville (03), she caused a big sensation with the short film Monster (05). The Babadook is her first feature length film.
