Mundruczó showed his taste for remaking myths and for magical realism with this fable inspired by Joan of Arc, absolutely atypical because of its musical character. In it, we find Johanna, a drug addict who, after falling into a coma, is saved when her life appeared to be lost. From that point on, she’s the one who will become a miracle worker, curing other patients. But just as the beautified Joan, she will wind up being persecuted.
He studied acting and directing in Budapest. After directing several short films, he began a stunning career with the feature length Pleasant Days (02). His films include Delta (08), Tender Son: The Frankenstein Project (10) and White God (14).
