Synopsis

A young priest has to spend three nights watching over a witch's corpse. During that time, all sorts of horrors will put his faith and his sanity to the test. This fascinating adaptation of Nikolai Gogol's classic tale has the honor of officially being the first fantastic genre film produced and released in the Soviet Union.
