Synopsis

Director's cut of one of the most unusual cult gems in 1970s European fantastique: gothic, mind-blowing and deeply unsettling. At the end of the 19th century, a sailor is knocked unconscious after a bar fight, only to wake up locked up in Malpertuis, the bizarre mansion where his uncle, a dying eccentric, intends to keep everyone around him locked up.
