Once again this year we are delighted to present one of our best loved initiatives, which embodies our confidence in the power of film as a tool for knowledge: VENTANA CINÉFILA  (CINEPHILE WINDOW). We are convinced that one of our most important tasks as cultural agents consists of collaborating with teaching staffs and bringing rigorous, personal and high quality content to the classroom, providing students with elements of critical judgment and a deeper understanding of the codes that are at work in the omnipresent contemporary audiovisual culture.

This pioneering initiative, which to date has received a sensational reception from both students and the educational community, is implemented with the collaboration of the digital platform Filmin and by joining forces and alliances with other important festivals from around the country, promoters of the ProFestivales21 alliance: the Valladolid International Film Festival, the Malaga Film Festival, the Huelva Ibero-American Film Festival, and the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia.

VENTANA CINÉFILA features a carefully chosen selection of 7 feature films and 2 short film programs, each one directed by contemporary international auteurs who address issues that appeal to the present reality of any student from different perspectives and narrative proposals, which encourages an active and cross-cutting approach to a wide range of subjects. This online section, free of charge and designed specifically for educational centers, will be developed through Filmin and all the schools that are interested can take advantage of these activities, upon request, from October 16th to November 30th. Schools in Castilla y León, Andalusia and Catalonia will be able to access these contents upon registration, which opens on Wednesday, September 13th and will remain open until November 29th. Schools that wish to register can do so through the Festival's website.

The VENTANA CINÉFILA initiative also includes a series of teaching guides on each of the films and programs available to teachers to enhance classroom discussions before and after screenings.
