Larry Fessenden and Gualberto Baña receive the Honorary Maria Award in Sitges 07'
Yesterday Larry Fessenden received the Sitges Festival's Honorary Maria Award during the presentation of his last work The Last Winter. Gualberto Baña, Former Director General of UIP Spain also received the same award during the Premiere of Stardust.
In the film world, the description 'one-man band' is attributed to talents like Larry Fessenden's: actor, director, producer and screenwriter of a great many fantasy genre movies, many of them presented at the Sitges Festival, like Session 9 by Brad Anderson, a movie that he participates in as an actor, or Zombie Honeymoon, where he was involved as a producer.
Larry Fessenden is one of those multidisciplinary filmmakers whose wake lends itself to being gone through with a fine tooth comb, since we can find his name behind works by important names like Neil Jordan, Jim Jarmusch or Martin Scorsese. The Sitges-International Film Festival of Catalonia pays a personal tribute to Fessenden's figure, with a retrospective and awarding him the Honorary Maria.
