A new call for the Sitges Carnet Jove Jury kicks off
The Catalonian Generalitat’s Catalan Youth Agency and the Sitges – International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia have opened the period to send in applications to be a part of the eleventh Carnet Jove Jury. The deadline is July 1st.
The Carnet Jove Jury offers five young men or women interested in the field of film reviewing, or the film world in general, an opportunity to be a part of an official jury at one of the most prestigious film festivals and the number one fantastic genre festival in the world. The Carnet Jove Jury is a part of the Festival’s jury structures and this year it will be handing out two awards: the Carnet Jove Jury Award for Best Feature Length Film from the Official Fantàstic In Competition category and the Carnet Jove Jury Award for Best Feature Length Film in the Festival’s Midnight X-Treme category that contains horror genre films with a more independent spirit.
To participate, applicants must be Carnet Jove card owners between 18 and 30 years of ages during the days the Festival is held. In addition, they must present their résumé and a 1,600 to 3,200 character review of a fantastic genre film from any period (including present-day) or other styles of films (action, martial arts, drama, thriller, comedy, western or musical) premiering in 2014 or 2015.
Candidates must present their documentation through the Carnet Jove website. The deadline is July 1st. A first selection of seven finalists will be held between July 2nd and September 14th. The week of September 14th the names of the people who will make up the 2015 Carnet Jove Jury will be announced.
