The keys to success on the Internet

Timo Vuorensola, Finnish director of Star Wreck: in the pirkinning, the most viewed movie in the history of Finnish cinema, explained, at a presentation, the secret to the success of his first feature length movie. The film was one of the first to be uploaded to the Internet and almost exclusively distributed through this channel.

"We wanted to create a science fiction movie as if it were a blockbuster but on a minimal budget", the director confessed. Seven years after starting to film it, in 2005, he uploaded the movie to the Internet and the reaction surpassed all expectations: millions of downloads and wide interest from the international press.

"We broke the barrier by uploading a whole movie that lasted more than 10 minutes to the Internet. It had never been done before until then", the director assured us.
