Sitges 2020 is a reality

For eleven days, Sitges becomes the most comfortable and safest setting to disconnect, and to let yourself be surprised and entertained by the world's best fantastic films

Once again this year, the 53rd Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia has everything ready and waiting to present, with every guarantee and convenience, eleven days packed with entertainment and the very latest in fantastic genre films. 254 pieces including feature films, shorts and documentaries, at 7 different screening venues - 4 of them movie theaters -, reserved advance seating, with social distancing and limited seating capacity, and full air and sanitation measures and controls in all venues to guarantee, as always, a comfortable and fantastic experience for all viewers.

From October 8th to 18th, you will once again find the very best genre films in Sitges. The latest fantastic productions, more than a dozen debut features, a significant number of female directors as is customary, in a year featuring a large number of Catalan and Spanish productions, as well as world premieres, the potential of short films as a genre in their own right, the most comprehensive selection of animated films, daring independent auteur films and surprising documentaries that will be filling all of the Festival's theaters. And new this year, the Festival's online Virtual Cinema, where 155 pieces from the official line-up will be screened, giving shape to this new hybrid format that will allow the Festival to continue pleasing its fans who are unable to travel to Sitges due to our current circumstances.

With less than 48 hours to go before the film competition kicks off, Sitges 2020 is already prepared to continue offering a world-class cinematic event, adapting and updating itself to our new times, but maintaining its essence and most of its activities with every guarantee to accomplish its goal: to entertain and delight its fantastic film lovers.
