The Sitges Film Festival Joins Profestivales21

During the Sitges Festival, the world's number one fantastic film festival, it announced that it is joining Profestivales21, the professional coordinator that up until now brought together four other national festivals: Seville, Malaga, Huelva and SEMINCI, the Valladolid International Film Week.

Mònica Garcia Massagué (General Director of the Sitges-International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia Foundation), José Luis Cienfuegos (Director of the Seville Film Festival), Javier Angulo (Director of SEMINCI), Juan Antonio Vigar (Director of the Malaga Film Festival) and Manuel H. Martín (Director of the Huelva Ibero-American Film Festival) met in Sitges to present the coordinator's goals and the forthcoming actions they will be implementing.

In the words of Mònica Garcia: "Here in Sitges we want to join this coordinating committee to work with other fellow festivals. All of us who are part of Profestivales21 have our own entities, but we have many elements in common, such as our administrative processes, our professional structure throughout the year or the fact that we organize programmed activities beyond the dates of our own festivals. Given everything that unites us, we are convinced that we will have many projects to share in the future."

One of the first joint activities of the Profestivales21 coordinating committee is Ventana Cinéfila, which will take place from October 23rd to November 23rd, in collaboration with Filmin, with the participation of primary schools and secondary and high schools. In addition to this project, the coordinating committee is working on the terms and conditions of what will be the first joint action focused on the film industry and creators, the Profestivales21 Creation Lab, which is scheduled to be launched at the end of 2021.
