The great Abel Ferrara, director of works like Ms. 45 or King of New York, among others, returns to the big screen with Chelsea on the Rocks, a documentary that depicts bohemian New Yorker life in the late seventies.
The Hotel Chelsea is one of the most representative symbols of the hippie and punk New York scene in the late 20th century: through its rooms passed figures like Ethan Hawke, Robert Crumb or Dennis Hopper, among many others.
Ferrara filmed a documentary that has nothing to do with academic works or self-satisfying reviews. After the movie was screened, the director spoke to the audience.
In addition, Abel Ferrara will be receiving the Time Machine Award at this year's edition of the Sitges International Film Festival of Catalonia.
