Different films selected for the Sitges Festival will be screened in Pinamar and Buenos Aires
Once again, and for the second year straight, Argentina is pervaded by the spirit of Sitges. The alliance between the Festival and the Blood Window platform was renewed and the second Pinamar Blood Window International Fantastic and Horror Film Festival will be held from April 17 to 20. New this year is the premiere of the first Sitges Week in Buenos Aires, from April 22 to 26.
The agreement was signed over the last few days during the European Film Market (EFM) in Berlin, where Sitges was also present. The goal of this agreement is to strengthen the relationships of collaboration and participation between both partners; promote the exchange of activities and content, and contribute to encouraging emerging fantastic film talents in Latin America.
Over four days, the very best in current genre films will be screened in Pinamar, with a selection of titles that will benefit from the advice of the Sitges Festival. Guests will include famous directors, producers and artists. On the other hand, Sitges Week in Buenos Aires –which will be held immediately following Pinamar– will be programming a series of films that will be selected and presented by representatives of the Sitges Festival.
The Deputy Director of the Sitges – International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia, Mike Hostench, expressed a desire “to have an increasingly greater presence in Latin America in general and Argentina in particular. The Pinamar Blood Window Festival is an exceptional platform for us. The enthusiasm we experienced on behalf of Pinamar audiences and institutions during the first edition was extraordinary and marked the start of a Fantastic collaboration”.
Blood Window is a platform to promote Latin American talents, specializing in fantastic genre films and developed by the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts of Argentina (INCAA). It collaborates and participates in the main specialized festivals, exhibitions and markets around the world, most notably including the Sitges Festival.
