The Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia and the FIC-CAT have renewed their collaboration agreement, allowing the Roda de Berà festival to give visibility to fantastic films made in our country.
Once again this year, the Pantalla Sitges (Sitges Screen) section will be present at the FIC-CAT, now for the sixth year running, sponsored by the Sitges Film Festival. The film selected for this year's edition is Lluís Danés The Barcelona Vampiress, winner of the Grand Jury Award at last year's Sitges Film Festival, and which can be seen at the Roda de Berà Sports Center Pavilion on Saturday June 12th at 8:00 pm.
Just like every year, admission will be free and Àngel Sala, Director of the Sitges Film Festival, will be in Roda de Berà to present the section and to follow the FIC-CAT's evolution up close and personally. Sala is well acquainted with the Festival, as he has been a member of its Jury and has participated in several other editions.
The Barcelona Vampiress, which will be screened out of competition, is a co-production of Brutal Media, Filmax and TV3, and stars Nora Navas, Roger Casamajor, Bruna Cusí, Núria Prims, Sergi López, Francesc Orella, Mario Gas, Francesca Piñón and Pablo Derqui, among others.
Inspired by the story of Enriqueta Martí, known as "the Raval Vampiress", the film was the big winner of the most recent Gaudí Awards, where it picked up five awards: Best Film, Best Art Direction, Makeup and Hairdressing, Costumes and Visual Effects.
